Adilyam Battalova

My name is Adele! I am from Kazakhstan. Currently, I am second-year Master’s student in Educational sciences. I am interested in AI in education and looking forward to assist the  Research Group for Innovation and Equality in Education. I’m all about sipping coffee while diving into books or study sessions, and you can bet I’m always up for a good Netflix and chill!  

If you had to summarize what being a demonstrator means to you in three words, what would those three words be? Why?

3 words to summarize what is being a demonstrator – ASSISTANCE, RESPONSIBILITY, ENGAGEMENT.  

  • Assistance- providing help to other researchers and professors 
  • Responsibility- being responsible for completing tasks and making sure the research process going smooth 
  • Engagement - Initiating or supporting research activities, such as data collection, analysis, or problem-solving 

What projects did you take part in during your previous year as a demonstrator? How did this contribute to your professional development? Are you continuing this work this year?

Last year, me and my supervisor explored the best worldwide  universities, their inner structure, systems and we focused on their websites so to create website for our research department. It helped me to understand more about creation the website and I got better at data collection (it’s not that exhausting for me anymore!). Since we have not completed some of our tasks, we are going to continue working on it and improve it! 

What were the most inspiring moments during your demonstrator assignment last year?

The most inspiring thing that happened during being demostrator is being engaged in work and research process, when I lose tack of time but the final result was worth it so you are proud of yourself.

What would you tell others about why it's worth applying to be a demonstrator?

I’d tell others that applying to be a demonstrator is totally worth it because, first of all it helps to gain insights and see things from new perspectives. Secondly, it helps to build strong connection and network with the other peers and university staff. And lastly, that’s a good experience to add to CV showcasing the ability to assist, manage, and contribute in a professional academic setting. 

What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in 3 / 5 years?

In the next 3 to 5 years, I plan to pursue a PhD to further develop my research career. Alongside that, I aim to return to my hometown and implement the skills I've acquired while being a student demonstrator. My goal is to contribute to the local academic and research community by sharing my experience and helping foster an environment of learning and innovation. By bridging my research expertise with practical applications, I hope to make a meaningful impact on education and research back home.


Angelina Chetvergova

I’m a second-year Master’s student in education. My field of interest are innovative and alternative ways of educational assessment and learning process and I will be assisting the innovation and equality in education research group this year. I’m a fan of Queen rock band, let’s make the show go on.

Why did you choose to study in Institute of Education at ELTE PPK? 

Well, my Bachelor’s is connected with educational sphere so I decided to continue studying in this sphere, but specifically in technologies in education, which is from my point of view, a key to be successful for both teacher and student. 

What was your motivation to become a demonstrator? Where do you hear about it? 

I would like to contribute to the development of our faculty, participate in research activities let people know more about it and make them interested in education and psychology. I heard about it from my professor and then I found some info on the website. 

Why did you choose to work with the research group for innovation and equality in education?

As I mentioned before, I’m interested in the topic “innovations in education”, and I also would like to expand my knowledge in the field of equity in education as it’s a really up-to-date problem all over the world, including my home country.  

What will be your task in the research group? 

I will work as teaching assistant, and I believe we will discuss my responsibilities at the meeting.  

What are your main goals for the following 3-5 years? 

I would like to develop my skills in research area, and I’m also thinking about continuing my studies as a PhD student. I also would like to work in some educational company and gain more expertise as an educator using various innovative technologies in teaching process.


Aida Yeltayeva

Hello, my name is Aida Yeltayeva and I am a second-year master’s student in Educational Science at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). My research interests are in higher education, particularly in educational management, teacher education programs and AI policies. Outside of my studies, I enjoy watching k-dramas and reading detective books.

Why did you choose to study at ELTE Institute of Education and Psychology?

I chose ELTE because of its strong academic reputation and research-oriented approach in the field of education. The university’s emphasis on both theory and practical application attracted me, as it aligns with my career goals in higher education. Additionally, ELTE’s diverse academic community offers a unique opportunity for cross-cultural learning, which I highly value. 

What was your motivation to become a demonstrator? Where did you hear about it?

I first learned about the demonstrator position from one of my professors. With prior experience working at a university, I have insight into the challenges and opportunities within higher education. I felt that my background could contribute meaningfully to HEIR’s ongoing projects. I also saw this role as a chance to engage with research that explores higher education from an international perspective, which resonates with my interests. 

Why did you choose to work with the Higher Education and Innovation Research Group?

I am drawn to the HEIR’s research focus on teachers’ innovation competences and the MARIHE program. Both areas resonate with my interest in higher education, as they emphasize improving pedagogical practices and exploring new approaches to governance and management. Working with this group offers a chance to contribute to meaningful research projects that align with my academic goals and career aspirations. Through my role in the research group, I am eager to learn from experts and immerse myself in innovative research projects. This experience will be invaluable as I prepare for a potential PhD, allowing me to deepen my understanding and contribute meaningfully to the field of higher education.

What will be your role, task in the research group?

As discussed with the research group’s head, Professor Orsolya Kálmán, I will primarily be involved in the MARIHE program and the DOKK development and research project, focusing on management and coordination tasks. My responsibilities will include project management, supporting research activities and ensuring smooth coordination within these initiatives. 

What are your main goals for the following 3-5 years?

After completing my master’s degree, I plan to work in the field of education for 2-3 years to gain practical experience before pursuing a PhD degree. I believe that hands-on experience will provide valuable insights and strengthen my future research, allowing me to contribute more effectively to the academic community.
