MARIHE

ELTE joined the Erasmus Mundus Master in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) programme, which has been running for five years, thanks to a new successful application. Our accession to the Master's programme, coordinated by Danube University Krems, was made possible by the European Commission's positive decision in June 2018 to award a grant of €3.7 million to the consortium implementing the programme, which will train a total of 82 scholarship holders over six years starting in 2019.

The MARIHE training aims to promote quality renewal, innovation and internationalisation of higher education institutions, to make the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) more attractive, to develop the higher education management competences of the students and thus to increase their labour market opportunities.

The project is coordinated by Attila Pausits, Head of the Centre for Education Management and Higher Education Development at Danube University in Krems. From 2019 onwards, MARIHE will offer students study trips to India and China and four specialisations, namely Institutional Research, Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Leadership and Management.

In addition to the previous consortium partners, the University of Tampere (Finland), Beijing Normal University (China) and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Germany), ELTE and the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (India) joined in 2019.

The MARIHE programme is a unique opportunity for the field of education to expand its international network of contacts, with five consortium partners, including two from Asia, and an alumni network of over 50 people from around 30 countries.

The project will provide a valuable professional background and support for the MA in Education in English.
